Obit for Mrs. Cora Skidmore

Funeral services for Cora Bell Skidmore, age 99, of Grapeland are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. this afternoon (Thursday, October 7) at the First Baptist Church, Grapeland, with Rev. David Bradley, Dr. Jack Shoultz and David Richburg officiating. Burial will follow in Denson Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.

Serving as pallbearers are Stewart Davis, David Richburg, Jason Richburg, Brandon Richburg, Rustin Richburg, David Walton Jr., John Walton, Jacob Skidmore, Ryan Skidmore and Brad Skidmore.

Mrs. Skidmore died Monday evening, October 4, 1999, at Houston County Nursing Home in Crockett. A daughter of the late Ben Estell and Ada Luce Estell, she was born on November 24, 1899, in Houston County. Mrs. Skidmore was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Grapeland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arwine Skidmore.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Gwendolyn) Walton of Grapeland, Mrs. O. B. (Ouita) O'Dell of Arlington; one son, John Skidmore of Arlington; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
