Ann Easterling (1790-1867) of Marlboro county, SC married Britton "Brit" O'Neal of Marlboro, SC in Robeson County, NC on 26 Dec 1805 (with her Uncle Jesse Easterling as bondsman), and shortly after beginning married life they moved to Georgia where their first child, James Isaac O'Neal was born in spring 1806. Eventually they settled in Twiggs county GA about 1810 where the raised a large family during the 1820's and 30s.
They were miners of the kaolin found in Twiggs county. Britton also served his elderly father-in-law James Easterling, Sr as a dutiful son-in-law by running errands for him according to local mercantile records (those of merchant Ira Peck in Marion, Twiggs co, 1826). In later years, Ann and Brit O'Neal moved south to Lowndes County (1850), part of which became Brooks county, GA where they are enumerated on the 1860 census as farmers well into their 70's. They both died on the same day, 23 July 1867, in Quitman, Brooks county. Burial: Alderman Cemetery.
