Lt. Donald D. Dowden - Navigator US Army Air Corps WWII
Killed during a training mission when his B-24 Liberator failed to gain the necessary altitude & crashed into the face of Mount Holyoke near the Westover Airbase in MA.
Donald was survived by his beloved young wife, Shirley; his parents LaVina Peterson Dowden & Ernest Monroe Dowden and 1 brother, Robert Ernest Dowden.
