Civil War Medical Figure. He examined John Wilkes Booth, President Abraham Lincoln's assassin, at Garrett's Farm, Virginia during the early morning of April 26,1865, treated his gunshot wound and later pronounced him dead after he was shot by Sergeant Boston Corbett.
