Leslie J. Doe was born November 22, 1933 on the family farm near Regent, the son of Tom and Lillian (Hovland) Doe. He was raised and educated in the Regent area having attended the Tepee Butte Country School.
He was united in marriage to Marie Reisenauer at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New England on October 18, 1954. Together they farmed and raised their six children on the Doe farmstead.
Leslie was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed music, card playing, dominos, watching TV (especially the Wheel-of-Fortune), going for drives in the country, and watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting activities. Leslie loved his family and friends, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He will be remembered as a great person, a loving father, grandfather, a loyal brother and a faithful friend. He was though a mischievous person, with a warm smile and a twinkle in his eye.
Leslie is survived by his wife, Marie; their six children, Brenda (Jack Seymour) Doe, Everett, Wash., Shelly (Terry Wolff) Nicholls, Fargo, Casey (Melissa) Doe, Rochester, Minn., Nancy Christianson, Circle Pines, Minn., Jody (Sarah) Doe, Killdeer, and Stacy (Kyle Frieze) Doe, Dickinson; 12 grandchildren, Courtney, Emily, Zebulon and Gracie Doe, Desirae, Sabrina and Adriane Doe, Gabriella, Mikayla, Harper, Sawyer and Sienne Doe; one great-grandchild, Lane Doe; siblings, Earl (Arlene) Doe, New England, Lorraine (Jack) Rafferty, New England, Lois Kunze, Bismarck, Lila Johnson, Minneapolis, Minn., and Hazel Liden, Cambridge, Minn.; and one sister-in-law, Pauline Doe, Hettinger. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Calvin, Lloyd and Glen; and five sisters, Elaine, Shirley, Virginia, Marjorie and Gladys.
