Brian J Rowan, 48, of Southside, Ala, died at Athens-Limestone Hospital in Athens, Ala. Born in Gadsden, Ala., he was the son of Retha June Reyer Mayo. He spent most of his life in the Gadsden area and was an avid Alabama football and NASCAR fan. He was a decorated U.S. Navy Veteran. Survivors include his mother, June and Jerry Mayo of Southside, Ala.; two aunts, Joan Minor and Sandra Bateson and cousins from Ardmore, Alabama area.
