SHAVER, Gus - Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in Evans-Miller Chapel, Exeter, and Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Exeter, for Gus Shaver, 90, of Exeter who died July 30. The Rev. Joseph Balker will officiate. Interment will be in Exeter District Cemetery. Shaver was born in Columbus, Ohio, and was a former Bakersfield resident. He was an oilfield worker for many years, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. survivors include his wife, Ethel; two stepdaughters, Loretta Miller of Exeter and sister Marian Thomas McManus of Oakland, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
