Dowell Last Rites Set Saturday
Funeral services for Flora Rebecca Dowell, 319 N. Duncan will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ.
Bro. J. Harvey Dykes will officiate at the services for Mrs. Dowell, who died Wednesday at the age of 62. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery under the direction of Strode. A longtime resident of Payne county, she was born in Tennessee on Sept.9, 1891 and came to Oklahoma with her parents, Brownlow and Della Tunnell, who settled near Ripley. She was married to O.F. Dowell at Ripley on
Oct 1,1912, and lived near there untill the couple moved to six miles northeast of Stillwater in 1923. In December, 1952, they moved to Stillwater.
She was a member of th Church of Christ and the North Star Farm Women's Club.
Survivors include her husband three sons, Cecil L. Dowell of Okemah, Bill Dowell of Bakersfield, Calif., and Gordon L. Dowell of the home; one daughter, Mrs. C.W. Billingsley of Durrant; one sister, Mrs. Dick McClain of British Columbia, Canada, and four grand children. Two children died in infancy.
