ARARAT, NC ~ Mrs. Mattie Tucker Boyd, 85, of 1592 Little Mountain Church Road, Ararat passed away Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Charlotte Health Care Center.
She was born June 1, 1918, in Stokes County to Robert E. Tucker and Mary Elizabeth Cardwell Tucker.
Mrs. Boyd was a lifelong member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Ararat.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Nancy Boyd of Conover; three grandchildren: Cynthia Yount of Lexington, S.C., Debra Harwell of Gastonia and Sharon Hamby of Conover; and six great-grandchildren: Emily and Ryan Yount, Kathryn and Preston Harwell and Tyler and Drew Hamby.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Preston Boyd; seven brothers; three sisters; and her parents.
