After a long and brave four- year battle with cancer, Susan Crandall Gage was called home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2013, at the age of 51. Susan was an inspiration in her faith in God by reflecting a positive attitude every step of the way and sought to make the most of her life knowing that it might be cut short.

She was born March 4, 1962, in Dallas to the parents Bo and Helen Dillard as one of five siblings.

After graduating from Stephen F. Austin, she then went on to become a missionary with her husband, Jeff, in Taiwan, a teacher for Tyler ISD and a community actress.

But her greatest love and accomplishment came as being the mother of three wonderful children: Caroline Ann Gage, 25, Austin Kyle Gage, 22, and Audrey Helen Gage, 19. She was grateful that for most of their young lives she was able to be a stay-at-home Mom and enjoyed every minute of it.

Susan has left a passion for life for her surviving children and her siblings: David Dillard and wife Annie, Karen Thompson, Cathy Muir and husband Tom, and Mark Dillard and wife Debbie. Susan is also survived by her parents, Bo and Helen Dillard.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Grace Community High School Auditorium, 3001 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701.
