irginia Lee Wells, age 83, of Ozark, passed away from complications of pneumonia on Monday, April 8, 2013. She was born July 22, 1929, the daughter of Lee and Inez (Doran) Bingham. The family lived in the Cassidy community and Virginia along with her sisters and brother attended Mount Pleasant Grade School. She was a graduate of Ozark High School.
Virginia was united in marriage to Alfred "Jiggs" Wells, Jr. He preceded her in death in 1988. Virginia continued to live in Ozark, and enjoyed visiting with others, especially telephoning her friends. Virginia enjoyed being the "sample lady" at Sam's Club. She never met a stranger and always made others feel comfortable.
Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church of Ozark, and had been a member of the Ozark Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include: Two children, Ann Speak and husband Max of Ozark, and Joe Wells and wife Jill of Joplin; three grandchildren, Whitney Wells, Lindsey Wells and Jared Wells; two sisters, Mary Kissee and husband Bill of Ozark, and Jeanne Sleeth and husband David of Springfield; a sister-in-law, Blanche Patti of Raytown; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jiggs, a brother Albert Bingham and wife Jean, a sister, Helen Deke and husband Roy, a sister-in-law, Helen McLain; and two brothers-in-law, Joe Patti and Bob McLain.
Burial in Highlandville Cemetery.
