He was a member of Prosper Baptist Church and worked as a foreman with International Paper Company for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Whiteville Fire Department and Lake Waccamaw Fire Department. He was a member of the Riegelwood Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife Helen Britt Watts of Delco; three sons, Brent Watts of Clarendon, Colton Watts and Riley Watts, both of Delco; one daughter, Leslie W. Strickland of Cerro Gordo; his parents, Banks and Ruby Watts of Whiteville; one sister, Candy W. Ward of Whiteville; and two grandsons.
