COFFEYVILLE – Ale K. Baker, 82, of 814 w. 10th died Tuesday afternoon at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel until 9 p.m. today, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Baker was born on Aug. 13, 1914, northwest of Coffeyville to Roscoe and Alma A.E. (Murray) Kimbrel. She attended school in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1931 and Coffeyville Junior College in 1933. Following her schooling, she taught in the rural Snow Hill School east of Coffeyville for one year.
On Nov. 29, 1935, she married Norman G. Baker in Carthage, Mo. They lived in Coffeyville until 1941 when they moved to Corpus Christi, where she taught school. In 1953, they moved to California, where she taught school and became principal of the Coachella Grade School in Coachella, Calif. They retired in 1972 and returned to live on their farm northwest of Coffeyville where they did hay contracting. She later taught at Longfellow school in Coffeyville from 1972-to 1975 and continued to substitute for several years. They then travelled for four years throughout the United States and moved to Yerington, Nev., in 1988. The returned to Coffeyville in November.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dearing and the Home Demonstration Unit of Coffeyville. She also was past president of the Business and Professional Women of California.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Michael Baer, Inverness, Fla.; a daughter, Diane Watson, Coffeyville; two brother, Morris Kimbrel, Coffeyville, and Claude Kimbrel, rural Coffeyville; a sister, Fern Carns, rural Coffeyville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. per nataliegoes (#47035476) 04/16/2016
