MARKEL Ida Ilene "Idalene" Markel, age 80, of Hilliard, died Friday, December 5, 2003 after a long illness. Born in Millersport, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Mildred Spangler. She was a member of the Columbus African Violet Society where she served as President and Vice President. She was show chairperson for the Ohio State African Violet Society. She was also actively involved in league bowling for over 40 years at Riverview Lanes and later at Fiesta Lanes where she served as Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Fusek and husband George Markel. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, son-in-law,and grandsons. Contributions may be made to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice, 6500 Busch Blvd., Columbus, Ohio 43229 in her memory. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road.
