Carol J. Barton, 78, passed away on May 23, 2012. Born in Walton, NY on Christmas Eve, 1933, she was a beloved daughter of the late Everett and Esther Macdonald Macnaughton. Carol was a 1952 graduate of the Walton High School and then continued her education at the Albany Business School. At the time of her death Carol was employed as the administrative assistant at Paul Copp of Albany, NY. She greatly enjoyed basket weaving, rubber stamping and was a member of the Stampin' Up Club, traveling, camping and enjoyed spending her summers at the pool and the annual family reunion and dining out. Carol was a member of the Landis Arboretum and the Esperance-Sloansville United Methodist Church and the local book club with her friends. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jim, whom she married on February 22, 1955; her two daughters, Colleen (Jay) Affinito of Esperance, Lucinda (Rich Leary) Barton of Craryville, NY; her grandson, Noah Stisser of Esperance; two sisters, Marion Rose of Melrose, MA, and Eleanor (Walt Moeller) Misner of Sidney, NY; and her brother, Kenneth Macnaughton of Walton and many extended family and friends. Family and friends are invited to call at the Esperance Sloansville United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Immediately following, funeral services will be held at 1:30 at the church. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Landis Arboretum and/or to the Esperance Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to all the local fire departments and rescue squads that responded when Carol and her family needed them most.
