Clayton F. Harvey, 78, of Philbrick Hill died Thursday at New London Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Taunton, MA and retired to West Springfield in 1967.
He was a 1924 graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and served for 25 years as a resident engineer with the Massachusetts Department of Public Works. Mr. Harvey was for 19 years Rhode Island branch manager for the Clarke-Wilcox Co. of Boston, a construction equipment manufacturing firm from which he retired in 1967. He then moved to West Springfield after residing in Sharon, MA for 25 years.
He was a past master of Blue Hill Lodge FM&AM of Canton, MA and past president of the Sharon Country Club.
Mr. Harvey is survived by his wife. Phyllis (Engren) Harvey of West Springfield, one son, Clayton F, Jr. of North Attleboro, MA and three grandchildren.
