Always known as "K Allen". His trade was that of a cheesemaker, although in the 1905 census of Almond he is noted as a Buttermaker. In 1880 he is living with his wife and grandparents(Abner and Polly Allen) in Alfred,NY. His first wife and him divorced and they both remarried. After the death of his second wife, Viola, K left his children with relatives and apparently did alot of traveling. He was said to have played a violin and was at one time playing for the "Boston Pops." It was in New England where is met Edith Jotry, who Grandma said played the piano. According to their marriage cert., her occupation was a "music teacher." In 1920 K and Edith were living in Plattsburgh,Clinton Co.,NY, also living with them was Edith's 15 year daughter Vivien. Edith is listed as a teacher and K had no occupation, they were renting a place at 21 Bailey Ave. In 1930 he is a widower renting a place at 51 1/2 Main Street in Almond working odd jobs.
