Elizabeth A. Mowery, 80, (nee Ilg) of Lorain passed away on Wednesday evening, March 27, 2013 at Mercy New Life Hospice at St. Joseph in Lorain following a brief illness.
Mrs. Mowery was born in Lorain on April 13, 1932, the daughter of the late Carl A. and Anna M. (nee Seybold) Ilg. She was a graduate of Lorain High School, Class of 1950-A, obtained an associate degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri in 1952 and the received a bachelor's degree in home economics from Lake Erie College in 1954.
She was a lifetime member of St. John United Church of Christ in Lorain and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lakeland Women's Club, was a life member Lorain Community Hospital Auxillary and American Association of University Women.
Her life centered around her family and she enjoyed gardening, growing orchids and in her early years was an accomplished vocalist and pianist.
Mrs. Mowery is survived by her husband Neal C., to whon she was married on June 15, 1957, two daughters Ann C. Mowery, of Avon Lake, Caryl M. (Tyler) Huggins of Galion, grandchildren Pearson Huggins, Evan Huggins, and Lauren Huggins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister Katherine M Ilg.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside Services will be at Elmwood Cemetery on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 10:30 am with Rev. Philip Kunz, pastor, officiating.
