Dean A. Dennis, of Marion, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013. He was 66.

Dean was born on November 9, 1946, in Cadillac, to Herman and Ines (Sicord) Dennis. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Dean married Ethel B. Ouwinga on August 11, 1971, in Marion. He was employed with American Microwave in Lansing for 10 years and retired. He owned the Marion Radio and Electric with his brother, Derwin, and also worked at Four Winns in Cadillac. Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and Red Wings hockey. He was a member of Marion VFW No. 6015.

Dean is survived by his wife, Ethel B. Dennis of Marion; children, Derek (Darla) Dennis of Marion, Daniel Dennis of Marion, Dawn Dennis of Houghton Lake, Dana (Jon) Dillon of Houghton Lake; two step-grandsons, Jacob and Jared Huttenga; two grandsons, Austin and Trent Dennis who he adored; brothers, Derwin (Gloria) Dennis of Marion, David (Nancy) Dennis of Evart, Diane (Keith) Smith of Evart; a sister in-law, Jeanette Dennis of Benzonia; a special family friend, Shannon Millar; and his best friend, Larry Colberg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dale and Duane Dennis.

Funeral services for Dean will be conducted at the Marion United Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Duane Timmermans officiating. Marion VFW No. 6015 will present military honors. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Marion.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home, Marion. Memorials may be made to Dean's grandsons' college fund.
