Deaconess Susie Mae Hill, widow of Mr. King
Albert Hill, Sr. and the daughter of the late Mr. James
Hill, Sr. and the late Mrs. Cornelia Johnson Hill, was
born in Union, SC on Monday, May 7, 1928. She entered
eternal rest on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Ellen Sagar
Nursing Home.
Mrs. Hill attended the public schools of Union
County. She was faithful member of the McBeth Baptist
Church and worked as a homemaker and cook for many
years. She had a love for hats and collecting bells from all
around the world.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was
predeceased by a son, Mr. Donald Leon Hill, a daughter,
Mrs. Ella Mae Douglas, a sister, Mrs. Mary Ruth
Townsend, and four brothers, James, Henry, Leroy, and
Marion Hill.
She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her
life four sons, Mr. Freddie E. (Barbara) Hill of Brockton,
MA, Mr. King Albert (Patricia) Hill, Jr. of Santuc, SC, Mr.
Melvin (Juanita) Hill of Union, SC, Mr. Efrem (Delores)
Hill and one adopted son, Mr. Louis (Serphia) Hill of
Columbia, SC; six daughters, Mrs. Mary (Calvin) Peake
of Buffalo, SC, Ms. Tamer Porter, Ms. JoAnne Hill, and
Ms. Sarah (Donald) Duckett of Union, SC, Ms. Sharon
Duncan of Columbia, SC and Mrs. Susan (Burton) Jones
of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Mr. Tommie Hill of
Union, SC and Mr. George Hill of Rocky Mount, NC; one
sister, Ms. Sarah Dawkins of Union, SC; a daughter-inlaw,
Ms. Hattie Hill, twenty-seven grandchildren; thirtyeight
great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren;
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving
relatives and friends.
