Crew member of lost B-24 Bomber " Lady Be Good " . Only aircraft missing from bombing mission April 4, 1943 from Soluch, Libya. Aircraft located by an oil exploration crew from the air in 1959. Wreckage investigated and remains of 8 crew members recovered and identified by U.S. Military records 1960. 9th crew members remains were never found ( Vernon Moore ). Wreckage found 440 miles South of Soluch, Libiya which was being used as a military airfield April 4 1943. Aircraft was the only one which did not return from the mission.
