"Lola Bell Nickens Black, 82, of the Walter Hill Community, died Friday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Services are set for 4 p.m. Sunday at Jennings & Ayers Chapel, followed by burial in Drennon Cemetery, with Greg Vick officiating.

Mrs. Black was the daughter of the late Mattie Bell Lane and Walter Nickens. Her husband, the late Marcus Black, died in 1949. She is survived by five sons, Wesley Black, Ernest Black, Kenneth Black, Ellis Black, and Howard Black, all of Murfreesboro; three daughters, Lorene Elrod of Murfreesboro, and Margaret Welker and Helen Brown, both of Walter Hill; two sisters, Nellie Lane and Earline Waddle, both of the Leanna Community; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Black was a native of Rutherford County, and was a retired employee of Walter Hill School. Mrs. Black's body is at the Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home, where visitation with the family will be held after 4 p.m. today."
