Emma J. Harvey, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 6, 2012, after a brief illness. She was 101 years old. An elegant, capable woman, she was blessed with good health throughout her life, and was able to retain independence and be a positive influence on all those who met her until her passing. She was born in Vienna, Austria, but lived most of her life in Spring Lake and Allenhurst. She was the widow of N. Davis Menken and Lester W. Harvey and the mother of the late Kenneth A. Menken and the late Lester W. Harvey Jr.
She is deeply loved and missed by her surviving relatives. They are her daughter-in-law, Margaret Harvey; her three grandsons, Lester Harvey III and his wife, Gina, Timothy Harvey and Matthew Harvey; her three great-grandsons, Braedon and Jensen Harvey and Ian Harvey; her niece, Jacqueline McMahon and husband, Joseph; her two great-nieces, Luciile Capone and husband, Jeffrey and Cordelia Adam and husband, George; her three great-nephews, Peter Capone and Charles and George Adam; and her daughter-in-law, Joan Menken.
Services were private. Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Ave., Asbury Park, was in charge of the arrangements.
