Funeral services for George Quinton Sessions, 88, of Williston, will be held two p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with burial at the Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday and other times at the home in Williston. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund, 857 Mt. Beulah Road, Windsor, SC 29856. George passed away Monday, February 14, 2011.

Born in Marion, SC, he was a son of the late George Robert Sessions and Rhoda Connor Sessions and was first married to the late Catherine Young Sessions. George graduated from Florence High School and attended Colorado State University; he was a WW II Army Veteran of the European Theatre having served under General George Patton, was an amateur HAM radio operator and retired from E. I. DuPont as a technician. A great Christian man, he was a former member of Winfield Heights Baptist Church, Williston and was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, Windsor. He wrote several novels and had his war stories published in The People Sentinel. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and enjoyed having visitors at his home.
