Harrison Adams died Tuesday June 12, 1951 in the VA Medical Center in Marion. He was born in Marion June 15, 1892 to George Franklin and Eliza Glenn Adams. He married Lena Dunn in Williamson County and she survives. Other survivors include daughters Lillian Zoeller, Marion; Doris Cross, Kankakee; Joan Shawmeker, Carbondale; Vera Adams, Kankakee and Sue Ellen Adams at home; sons Charles of Little Rock, Ark.; Carl at home; Hosea who is on the USS Brownison in Mediterranean waters; Dale in the U.S. Navy in Memphis, Tenn.; and Dennis Adams at home. There are three grandchildren, Michael Cross, Dianne Zoeller and Deborah Shawmeker. He is also survived by brother George Adams of Marion, sister Mrs. Myrtle Poteete of Marion and one half-sister, Mrs. Tina Lannom of Marion and half-brother Oscar Adams of Anna.
Formerly a druggist and farmer at Okaville, Adams last occupation was Justice of the Peace in West Marion. He served with Troop B, 13th Cavalry in World War I. He was a member of the American Legion and other organizations. The body is lying in state at the family home and interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
