LONGVIEW — Dr. John Franklin Angle, 60, died Thursday, September 30, 1999, in a Houston hospital.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jonathan Jehorek officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, directed by Rader Funeral home of Longview. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5-7 p.m.

Dr. Angle was born in 1938 in Centralia, Ill. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a B.S. in biology and art and received his medical degree from the University of Texas at Galveston in 1966. His internship and residency was done at St. Joseph and M.D. Anderson in Houston and Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi. He then practiced in San Angelo and Abilene until 1977, when he moved his obstetrical and gynecological practice to Longview. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Longview, where he was an elder and had taught Sunday school.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; two daughters, Katherine Wood of Spartanburg, S.C., and Tamara Hitt of College Station; a sister, Delphine Dodd of Houston; two brothers, Joe Angle of Jacksonville and Don Angle of Houston; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Parkinson research, the American Lung Association, Habitat for Humanity or to the charity of choice.
