Confederate officer. Born at the Hermitage, the son of the adopted son of President Andrew Jackson. He graduated from West Point Academy in 1858. Colonel of the 1st Tennessee Heavy Artillery in the Confederate Army
He was the 4th Andrew Jackson, grandson of the President whose father was Andrew Jackson Sr
