With nearly every bone in his body broken as the result of being whirled about a shafting at the plant of the Topton foundry yesterday afternoon, Harvey Biehl, aged about 40 years, died a short time after being admitted to the Allentown hospital. It was shortly after two o'clock when Biehl in some manner was caught in a drive belt while at work in the cleaning room of the plant and whirled about the shafting several times before he was hurled to the floor. Fellow workers immediately came to his assistance and summoned Dr. C. P. Smith. The physician administered to the badly injured man until the arrival of the Allentown hospital ambulance. Following the death of Biehl, Coroner F. R. Bausch viewed the body and later notified Deputy Coroner R. A. Mabry, of Mertztown, Berks county, in whose jurisdiction the accident happened and who began an investigation. Coroner Bausch issued a certificate of death and placed the body in charge of Undertaker Schofer, of Topton. The victim of the accident was employed at the Topton foundry for several years. He was born in Maxatawny township, Berks county, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Biehl, and was well and favorably known to the resident of Hancock, where he resided for a long time, and among others in that vicinity. He is survived by his widow, Carrie, nee Fisher, and one child, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Moyer and Mrs. Elmer Sanders, of Topton, and four brothers, Edwin, of Emaus; Harry and Pius, of Kutztown, and Amos, of Kutztown Route No. 2. Arrangements for the funeral were not completed last night.
