SUMTER - Services for John Henry Geddings, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning, which is in charge. Rev. Gene Mosier will officiate. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Florence National Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5 today at Stephens Funeral Home.

Mr. Geddings, widower of Jeannette Marie Geddings, died Saturday morning at his home in Sumter. Born in Manning, he was a son of the late Charlie Lavan Geddings and the late Odella Holiday Geddings. he was a retired automobile mechanic and a Baptist. Mr. Geddings was a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Rapp.

Surviving are daughters, Sarah Hopper of California, Peggy Schraut of Arizona, Barbara Miller of Houston, Carolyn Hill and Gayle Brunson of Sumter, Doris Beard of Columbia; sons, John H. Geddings Jr., Dan Geddings, Jack Geddings, David Geddings all of Sumter; sisters, Eva Mae Bradsher of Paxville, Eunice Lackey of Manning, Vivian Campbell of Columbia; 57 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren.
