Word was received by telephone this morning this morning from Klamath Agency, for Dr. Hargus, stating that Mrs. Dr. Hemenway had been stricken with apoplexy. C.C. Chitwood, brother of Mrs. Hemenway, and Dr. Hargus left immediately for the Agency. Mrs. Hemenway's condition is considered very serious.

Word was received here at 8 o'clock Monday morning by C.C. Chitwood that his sister Irene Hemenway had died that morning.Mrs. Irene Chitwood Hemenway was born in Marion County, Oregon, about 40 years ago. She resided there for some time, when her parents, Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Chitwood moved to Ashland. She made her home there for a number of years then came to Klamath Falls where she remained for some time.

On June 29, 1903 she was married to Dr. Stacy Hemenway, a prominent physician at Klamath Agency. She was taken suddenly ill last Thursday with apoplexy and seemed to be improving but was taken with relapse on Monday and passed away. The remains were taken to Ashland for internment and the funeral services were held yesterday afternoon.

She leaves a husband, Dr. S. Hemenway, and a sister, Mrs. S.K. Ogle of Klamath Agency, and Mrs. C.B. Watson, and brother, H.T. Chitwood of Ashland and another brother, C.C. Chitwood of Klamath Falls, to mourn her loss.

She was the fourth Hemenway wife.
