TULIA, Dec. 1 - Funeral services for D. E. Armontrout, 87, a retired Tulia farmer, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Wallace Funeral Chapel, with G. M. Covington and Harold McCollum, both Church of Christ ministers, officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery here, under direction of Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia.
Mr. Armontrout died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in his home here at 614 W. Broadway. He had been ill several years.
Mr. Armontrout was born Jan 9, 1871, near Waco. He bought land in Swisher County in 1913 and settled in the county in 1916. He moved in Tulia in 1928.
Survivors are a son, Monroe Armontrout of Tulia; two daughters, Mrs. Mae Ardis of Tulia and Mrs. Voila Nunn of Hereford; 12 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. (Source: Newspaper unknown, dated Dec. 1958; Texas Genealogy Trails
