Pearl T. Gordon, 99, died at 4:43 a.m. Wednesday April 14, 2010 in her home.
She was born in Albany, Georgia, to the late Virgil and Martha Ann Thomas.
She was married to Bennie Gordon for 45 years. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Pearl was a lady whose joy of serving God impacted the lives of many people in a positive way. She taught youth and adult Sunday school for over 70 years at St. Paul Baptist Church. She also sang in the choir for over 65 years, a member of the women ministry, Missionary Prayer Circle, and she attended every function that took place at church.
For many years Pearl and her sisters would split their time between Marion, Indiana and West Palm Beach, Florida. She attended the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where Rev. W. M. Hall was the pastor.
Survivors include nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many adopted sons, and daughters to carry on her legacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bennie; three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday April 19, 2010 in St. Paul Baptist Church, 1204 West 14th Street, Marion, Indiana with Pastor C. L. Adams officiating. Burial will be in Estates of Serenity.
Casey Lloyd Funeral Home, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, Indiana, 46953 handled the arrangements.
