Marlene, the daughter of John William and Elizabeth (Zieren) Weiland, was born April 30, 1933, at Madison, Nebraska.
Marlene made her first communion on May 10, 1942 at St. Leonard's Catholic Church in Madison, Nebraska. She attended St. Leonard's Elementary, country school, and later graduated with the Class of 1952 from Madison (NE.) Senior High School.
On October 5, 1953, Marlene was married to Milton James Ainsworth at St. Leonard's Catholic Church in Madison, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with 10 children. Marlene and Milton farmed near Madison, Nebraska before moving to Norfolk, Nebraska in August of 1993.
Marlene was previously a member of St. Leonard's Catholic Church, Madison, Nebraska before becoming a member of the Sacred Heart Parish upon moving to Norfolk, Nebraska. She was active with the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Legion Of Mary, the Golden Hearts, Rosary Crusade, and the Oblates at Immaculata Monastery in Norfolk, Nebraska. Marlene also helped with the Christ Encounter Weekend and was a Fourth Dayer.
In her free time, she loved to play cards, be involved in church activities, and spend time with her family.
Marlene is survived by: children: Rose (Pat) Prather of Norfolk, Nebraska, James (Diana) Ainsworth of Madison, Nebraska, David (Sylvia) Ainsworth of Madison, Nebraska, Francis Ainsworth of Norfolk, Nebraska, Mary (Chris) LaShure of St. Petersburg, Florida, Ann (Tim) Smith of Norfolk, Nebraska and Tricia Bach of Norfolk;, Nebraska; sisters, Mary Weiland of Madison, Nebraska, Bernadine (Leo) Tighe of Madison, Nebraska and Geri (Darold) Loecker of Yankton, South Dakota; in-laws, Mary Ellen Weiland of Stanwood, Iowa, Bernice Dreyer of Webb City, Missouri, and Gilbert Ainsworth of Ferris, Texas; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Milton James Ainsworth, in 1987; granddaughter; sons, Robert, Steven, and Richard Ainsworth and brothers, Anthony, Francis, Leonard, and Gerald Weiland.
Burial was in the St. Leonard's Catholic Cemetery, Madison, Nebraska.
