Valencian Painter. His real name was Pedro Sánchez García-Esteban. He developed his vocation with the opposition of his conservative family. In the Escuela de Bellas Artes de San Carlos, he was pupil of painters José Benlliure or José Renau, and friend of painter Genaro Lahuerta. He lived during a time in Rome, where change his artistic name, when a critic of art, introduced him to her italian friends, saying: "He is Pedro...," and forgot his last name, then added "from Valencia." From this moment, he was known as Pedro de Valencia. He obtained international success with his expositions in Baltimore Museum and San Francisco Museum. Among his works are "Escena de Guerra," "Vuelo de Gaviotas," "Civilización Fascista" and "Primavera."
