ASHLAND: Harold Blaine Dalton, 86, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday evening, April 3, 2013 after a long illness in the Hospice House. Harold was born June 1, 1926 on the family farm in Clear Creek Township, to the late Blaine and Fern (nee Rowland) Dalton.

Harold attended Savannah School. He was called to duty during WWII to the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge he worked with his brother, Lloyd, on drilling rigs. He later went onto become part owner of Plaza Hardware in Ashland with his sister, Lois and brother-in-law, Bud McBride.

Harold married the love of his life, the former June Welsh on September 16, 1950 in the Savannah United Methodist Parsonage. Harold and June purchased "the Farm" in 1950. A project that would lead to the establishment of Ford Tractor Sales in 1964, what is now Ashland Tractor Sales Inc. Harold was affiliated with the United Methodist Church of Savannah. He was a Clear Creek Township Trustee for more than 12 years. Harold was a member of the V.FW. Post # 5692

Harold will be deeply missed by his wife of 62 years of marriage, June Dalton of Ashland; one son, Brad (Mary) Dalton of Nova; three granddaughters, Karie (Bill) Hickey of Savannah, Katie (Matt) Willis of Ashland, and Kitty (Tony) Clark of Monroe Falls, six great- grandchildren, Dalton, Devon, Audrey, Aiden, Brynn, and Sawyer; sisters-in-law, Dorcas, Alice, Janice, Joyce, and Jacy; a brother-in-law, Fritz (Geraldine) Bauckman; and many nieces and nephews that were very dear to him.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a beloved son, Rex Allen Dalton in 1980; two brothers, Lloyd and Wallace Dalton; two sisters, Lois McBride and Lucille Bauckman; and his mother and father-in-law, Floyd and Lucile Welsh.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home, with Pastor Adam Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Savannah Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the Ashland Veteran's Honor Guard. Friends may call Sunday, April 7, 2013, in the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
