Janette V. Moore, 76, of Upper Burrell Township, died Friday, April 5, 2013. Born Nov. 23, 1936, in Williamsport, to the late Ivan and Rachel Poffenberger Alger, she was an accounts payable specialist for PPG in RIDC and Harmarville for more than 20 years, retiring in 1983. She also worked for Alcoa prior to working for PPG. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Kim (Daniel) Gregory, of New Kensington, and Douglas (Kim Jordan) Moore, of Ford City; grandsons, Philip and Thomas Weremeychik; brother-in-law, John Herbst; sister-in-law, Sandra (Joseph) Trzeciak; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Martin Moore, who died July 11, 2010; and her sister, Cynthia Herbst, who died in August 2012. Viewing will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday.
