GERMANTON, NC ~ Mrs. Pearlie Savannah Adkins Overby Hayden, 72, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 8, 1933, in Stokes County to Rual Oscar and Pinktora Joyce Adkins.

She operated Overby Rest Home for over 50 years. She was a member of Quaker Gap Baptist Church and enjoyed worship services at the Rest Home as well as playing the guitar, piano and singing with the residents.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmore Overby; her second husband, Alvin Hayden; seven sisters; and six brothers.

Surviving are four sisters, Maeola Lawson, Lucy Ring, Louise Queen and Ruth Love; a brother, Franklin Adkins and special family members, Faye and Robert Hayden.

An 11 a.m. funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 18, at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Cove. Burial will follow at Quaker Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, July 17, at the funeral home and other times at Mrs. Pearlie's home.
