Debra Joyce Whitfield, age 56, passed away April 5, 2013. Debra was born March 17, 1957 in Benton, Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband; Carroll Whitfield of Benton, AR, two daughters; Debra Ray and Sharla Whitfield of Benton, one son; William Whitfield, one step-daughter; Carolyn Holt of Sardis, five grandchildren; Danielle and Michael Ray, Clayton and Terra Whitfield, and Ethan Schiele, as well as many other family members and long-time friends, all who loved her dearly and will miss her always.
Debra was a member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. Her children said she was the best mom in the world, she loved to cook and she made the world's best pot roast and chicken and dumplings. She delighted in having a spotless house and enjoyed cleaning it.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 10th at 11 A.M. at Mars Hill Baptist Church with interment to follow at Mars Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends and family on Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Home in Benton, formerly Peaceful Haven, located at 322 N. Market in Benton, AR.

The family would like to say a special thank you to her nurse. Jennifer Garrett at Saline Memorial for the kindness, excellent care and compassion she showed to Debra and the family.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that Memorials be made in Debra's name, you may contact the funeral home at 501-778-7100 for more information.
