John Clarence (Riggie) Geisler, 80, of Willshire, O., retired General Electric Co. employee, and former hardware store owner in Willshire, died at 4:20 a.m. today at the Van Wert County Hospital, where he had been a patient two weeks. He had been in ill health for 11 years.
Born in Willshire Township April 7, 1891, he was a son of Charles and Effie Shaunding-Geisler, and was married to Bess Spaulding March 12, 1920.
Mr. Geisler operated a hardware store in Willshire for many years, and was employed at the Decatur G.E. plant six years until retirement.
A veteran of World War I, Mrs. Geisler was a charter member of Homer Pierson Post 207, American Legion at Willshire, and a 50-year member of Willshire Masonic Lodge 667.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Kent C. Geisler of Decatur; one sister, Mrs. J. C. (Leah) Edwards of Willshire; one brother Carroll Geisler of Willshire, and one granddaughter, Jacqueline Geisler of Decatur.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. (Ohio time) Friday at the Zwick Funeral Home, with Rev. William Harsin officiating. Burial will be in the Willshire Cemetery, with military rites at graveside by the Willshire American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday until time of the services. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
