Susanna Reynolds Mothershead of Lancaster District, South Carolina married Micheal/Michael Barnett, Jr. on 9 March 1820 in the Kershaw District of South Carolina. They had 7 children.

According to article written by Jyl Hardy, Micheal Barnett, Jr., his brother John, their widowed Mother Katherine [aka Catharine Barnett] and their families moved in early 1830's from Kershaw District, South Carolina to Alabama.

His brother, John had married Mahala Mothershed on Christmas Day 1807. John and his family settled in Post Oak, Bullock County, Alabama. John's mother Katherine [aka Catharine/Cattron] Barnett lived with them until her death in 1837.

By 1830, Micheal/Michael Barnett, Jr. and Susanna Mothershed Barnett had 5 children born in South Carolina:
i. Susan Kezia Barnett (1821) m. Thomas Underwood;
ii. William John Barnett (1822) m. Elizabeth Jennings Lee;
111. F.Decalb Charles Montgomery Barnett (1824);
1v. Martha Mahala Mary Jane Barnett (1827-1871) m. Thomas D. Frierson; and
v. Andrew Lawrence Barnett (1830) m. Mary Emiline Medlock.

April 30, 1831, Micheal Barnett, Jr. aka Michel Barnet with wife Susanna Barnet and Mother Catharine Barnet signed Kershaw District Bill of Sale for several of their tracts of land to Dr. Buckner Lanier of York District, South Carolina and North Carolina to include 2 plantations on the Wateree. [Kershaw, SC Deed Book M, pages 211-214, at Kershaw County Department of Records in Camden, Kershaw County, SC]. Micheal Barnett and his brother John with their widowed mother Catharine Barnett and their families were still farming in Kershaw District until the Spring of 1831. It was some time after that they left South Carolina for Alabama. Jyl Hardy's article stated "After his marriage to Susanna Mothershead of Lancaster, Michael, Jr. continued to work his land on the Wateree".

Two more children were born of Micheal/Michael Barnett and Susanna Mothershed Barnett in Montgomery County, Alabama [now Bullock County near Fitzpatrick, Alabama];
vi. son Carroll Reid 'Coffey' Barnett (1832-1863)m. Caroline M. Reynolds; and
vii. daughter Caroline M. Barnett [aka Caroline 'Carrie' Montgomery' Barnett (1835-1916) m. Joseph Parrott Eley, Sr. (1827-1892)].

Susanna Mothershed Barnett and Uriah H. Parker were executors of her first husband Micheal/Michael Barnett Jr.'s Will.

Several years after the death of first husband Micheal/Michael Barnett, she married Richard Locke (1791-1864) on November 8, 1838. Richard Locke's first wife was Elva Davenport (1793-1836). He married two more times, after the death of Susanna Reynolds Mothershed [Barnett] Locke, to Mariah Cauthern Jones in 1843 and Anna Maria Annie Barr on 20 October 1861.

Richard Locke and Susanna Reynolds Mothershed Locke had three children:
i. "Michael Barnet Locke m. Jonnie Beatrice Beattner Blackmon;
ii. Elva Elvey T. Locke (1841) m. 1st Harvey Tucker Clark; and m. 2nd William Jefferson Lewis.
iii. Susannah Locke (1842)."

Ther are 3 transcription errors in this census: 1)Rezia UNDERWOOD age 29 is actually KEZIA (nee' Barnett) UNDERWOOD 2)Susan LACKE age 8 is actually Susan Locke - KEZIA's half sister.
3)C.R. Bennett, age 18 is actually Carroll Reid BARNETT - Kezia's brother. Note he is buried in Highlog Cemetery by his daughter, his parents, his brothers and his cousins.
Also in household are Caroline Barnett, age 15 Kezia's sister Caroline Montgomery Barnett and Kezia's sister-in-law's brother Samuel Medlock age 20.
