Graveside services for Mr. Hardy Clifford Fortson, age 70, of Wadley will be Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain Springs Cemetery. Rev. Tim Whaley will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Fortson passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at his residence. He was born on January 6, 1936 in Turner County, GA to William Jasper Fortson and Marcus Adel Lamb Fortson. He was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church, a former resident of Atlanta, and had worked at the Big Apple as a Stock Clerk, in the steel mill, and in construction. He enjoyed basket weaving, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Karlie Jean Carden Fortson of Wadley; daughter, Michele Fortson Waters of Wadley; three grandchildren, Haley Waters, Caitlin Waters, and Noah Waters; brothers, Charlie Fortson of Flowery Branch, GA, and Royce Fortson of Jackson, GA; sisters, Annie Lee Fortson of Morrow, GA, and Inez Calhoun of Griffin, GA.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Mountain Springs Baptist Church, 15191 County Road 62, Wadley AL 36276, or to ones favorite charity.
Radney Funeral Home of Alexander City is in charge of the arrangements.
