Betty Jean Lockhart, 81, of Chattanooga, TN, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 29, 2013 at her residence.
Betty was a member of Eastdale Village Community United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Goodwin and Rosa F. Shackleford; grandmother, Mary A. Folds; aunt, Bessie Sandford; sister, Mary Rockingham; and brother, Willie Alfred Goodwin.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce A. Lightner, of Manassas, VA; grandchildren, Eric H. Lightner, Middleburg, VA, Aliza Y. Brown, of Woodbridge, VA Rochelle L. Lightner, of Alexandria, VA; great-grandchildren, Tarryn A. and Terrence A. Brown and Rihaana J. Stephens; nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
The body will lie-in-state after 12:30 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral service is at noon Saturday at New Emmanuel Baptist Church with Minister Kenneth Simpson as the eulogist.
Burial: Highland Memorial Gardens.
