Darlene Jane (Ertsgaard) Sellden was born on July 18, 1923, to John and Ella (Larson) Ertsgaard at home east of Wheaton, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at the Mission Church in the area and attended school at district 53. Darlene worked at the Wheaton Bakery while in High School and later the Red Owl Store in Wheaton. On June 24, 1945, she married Gilbert Sellden. Together they had four children. Over the years they lived near Wheaton, and in White Rock, SD, before settling in Moorhead, MN. Darlene worked for a time at Ben Franklin and later Duling Optical before retiring in 1984. In retirement they enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Branson, Florida, California, Colorado, Canada and to the lake cottage near Pelican Rapids. She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, scrap booking, golfing and going to the casino. Darlene lived at Golden Living Center in Moorhead until moving to New River Nursing Home in Monticello, MN, where she had most recently resided.
Interment: St. John's Cemetery, Dumont, MN.
