Quentin D."Boss" Barrington passed away Wednesday,April,2013 in Houston, Texas.youngest child of Sam William Bairrington and May Etta Benson .His mother died when he was a toddler.His grandmother,who before the Civil War as a pre-teen had walk from Pennsylvania to Texas, moved in to help with the children until her death.Shortly thereafter,upon Sam's remarriage,Quentin acquired a step-mother and a step-brother along with two younger sibling in the ensuring years.During the depression.Quetin,along with many of the young men in the Waco area,enlisted in the Texas National Guard 143rd infantry,36th Division unit also knoen as the"T-Patchers".The 143rd was comprised largely of farmer's sons for $1 per drills a month the basic pay.Whwn the United States entered WWII,the 36th Division was mobilizedand sent to Cape Cod to prepared to German winters,only to find themselves on a boat bound to North Africa April 1,1943,Quentin was a part of the Italian Campaign of Autumn 1944,Anzio,Salerno,and the Rapido River along with taking of Rome on June 5,1944;the invasion of southern France,and the battle of the bulge. During the 36th's drive into Bavaria,his Divison overran some of the sub-camps of the Dauchau concentration camp,liberating prisoners on april 30,1945.He was honorably discharged from the Army as a Sergeant having been awarded the Silver Star, two Purple Hearts, and various other service and campaign medals. Returning from WWII Quentin movede to Houston,Texas where he married Marjorie Pollard on January 24,1949, and raised two daughters.He was a caring and loving father and husband whoo believed in working hard to provide for his family.In 1982 he retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a Special Equipment Installer with 38 years of service,having installed equipment in most of Houston's dowmtown skyscrapers.He is preceded in death by his parents step-mother Viola Bairrington,siblings Harold Spencer Barrington,Clara Vivian Wallace,William "Bill" O'Bannon and Vera Jo Englet.Quentin is survied by his wife Mozella,twoo daughters Susan Barrington Sanchez and husband Pablo Sanchez, Vicki Jo Barrington aqnd Dr.Larry L.Patchell all of Houston.He is alsoo survied by his brother Rubin Allen "Buddy" Barrington and wife Delores of Rio Vista,Texas,brother-in-law David C.Englet of Houston and numerous nieces and nephew.Quentin was an avid deer but in recent years viewed his hunts through the Sportsman Channe.He looked forward to watching the Tour de France every July and enjoyed Astros Baseball.He was a member of Woodland Lodge No.1157 as a 32nd degree in Mason for 60 years and member of The America Lodge Post No.560-Garden Oaks and the 36thDivision Association.He also leaves behind dear friend Robert "Bob" Johnsonof Kingsland,Texas,a lifelong friendand T-Patcher.He thoroughly enjoyed his annual trips to Waco rekindling friendships with his fellow T-Patchers.

Visition will be held from 6-8 pm at Heights Funerla Home Friday April 5,2013

A funeral service will be held Heights Funeral Home at 2:00pm on Saturday April 6,2013. Internment will follow at Earthman Resthaven.

He will be remembered for his "dry wit" infectious smile and meticulous attention to detal as seen in his "spit polished" shoes,immaculate dress,and perfectly detaled automobiles
