William Treloar, about 55 years of age was found dead at his ranch at Warm Springs creek. He was a well respected man of the Challis area. A wife, two children and several brothers and sisters were left to mourn his sudden passing. In 1881, he and his partner employed seven men on their placer claim near Stanley, recovering 500 ounces of gold at cleanup at a time when gold was worth $15 an ounce.  In 1888, he had a butcher business in Bayhorse, Idaho, after which he took up ranching
