Jasper Yancey died Saturday after an illness of six days of heart trouble at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Conder. Mr. Yancey was born August 19, 1848, in Pickens county, Alabama, the son of Henry and Chroney (sic) Carden Yancey. At the age of 12 he and his father moved to southern Mississippi. In 1870 he married Sarah Tunnel. In 1892, they, with seven children, came to Utah, settling in Pleasant Grove, living there three years, then moving to American Fork.
He is survived by the following children: W. E. Yancey, Baker Ore.; T. E. Yancey, Taylorsville; Otis Yancey, Pleasant Grove; Dee Yancey, Pocatello, Idaho; Albert Yancey and Mrs. Flora Conder, American Fork.

Notes:
[Chroney] was probably a typo for "Phroney" which was short for "Sophronia"

Also Note: grave markers of Jasper's parents spell the name Y-A-N-C-Y.

Occupation: Farmer
Religion: LDS
