Jim Wadley and his wife, Mary Frances were married and lived near Water Valley, Kentucky. To this union, 10 boys and three girls were born. They were: Henry, Brookyn, Sam, George, Jim, Byron, Tom, John, Bill, Faddy, Mary Frances, Susie and Secelia.

After the death of his first wife, Jim Wadley remarried and they had one son, Charlie Wadley.

Eight of the boys and two girls moved to Texas in 1872 stopping first at Cross Plains, later moving to Baird before finally coming to Graham, Texas in 1874.

James was in Fulton County Ky 1870 age 54, with sons Samuel, George, William, John, Byron and daughter Martha age 5... Adaline Rutledge was in household with her Rutledge children
