Born on May 3, 1932 in Weirton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Paul Pappas & Stella (Trilirakis) Pappas Manousakis.
On May 17, 1956, she married Robert S. Allender. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2001.
Dorothy grew up in Ambridge, PA had worked at Tygart Valley Glass Plant in Washington, PA, then became a full time homemaker She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in DuBois, and was also baptized Greek Orthodox.
Dorothy enjoyed sewing, cooking and being with her family and friends, as well as being a wife, mother & grandmother
She is survived by a son (Charles Allender and his fiancée LouAnn Henry of DuBois, PA) a step sister (Maria Pistiolas and her husband George of Brunswick Ohio) a step brother (Jerry Pappas and his wife Pat of Myrtle Beach, SC) 2 grandchildren ( Ashley & Alex Allender), and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother (George Pappas) a sister (Mary Karolaus),and her step brother (John Pappas)
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Sarah Ott officiating.
Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
