Peter Immigrated to the US in 1874 settling in Diamond, Grundy, IL where he married and started a family. In IL. he worked as a coal miner but in 1883 he moved the family to the Longford, KS area where he farmed a 120 acres while also opening a shoe repair shop in Longford. I was told that Peter limped from a wound he received in the Franco-Prussian War.
