She was born Aug. 2, 1909, the daughter of Chauncey and Irene (Lawrence) Hull. She was born on the family farm, where she lived most of her life.
She graduated from Margaretville High School in 1926.
Emma was married to Randolph George on Oct. 17, 1934, in Margaretville. He predeceased her Aug. 7, 1972.
A homemaker, Emma also worked on the family dairy farm.
She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Glen and Jeanne George, Roy and Kathy George, Larry George, Lynn and Sue; and daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Tom Schuman; grandchildren and their spouses, Heather and Ray Gockel,Ryan and Patti George,Scott and Kelli George,Dean and Rita George,Melane and Ryan Gigliotti,Jenny and Victory Harmyk,Briana George; two step grandchildren, Debbie (Henry) Runo and Norman (Yuka) Day; and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one son Ranald George; and a great-grandson, Esai George.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm. Saturday,Dec. 6, 2008, at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville, with Shirley Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Dimmick Cemetery,Arkville.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 pm. Friday,Dec. 5, at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.
